Whenever I
think of symbolism, color pops into my head. I don’t know for sure, but I think
it is because I am a media design major! Color can be or not easy to work with
in film. You want the color in almost everywhere, but do not want the movie
saturated in that color and distracts the viewer. Zhang did a good job in doing
that. He could of made the bowl red; however, he did not and I think the reason
was to not distract the viewer with the color red that is in so many other
objects.
The color
red in The Road Home is so important
because that one color represents the hard work and the love of Di and the
teacher! Red symbolizes the passion, love, joy, happiness, and vitality she has
for him and what he has for her. The red also symbolizes in the red banner the
celebration of the school and wards off any bad spirits that might come. I also
believe that in "The Road Home," red is important to convey the story
Zhang, the director, wanted to convey.
Don’t you
love color?!
